Red Phone Box Replica

£4.99£8.99

Boxed Replica of the ‘K2’ Red Phone Box in die-cast metal, which is modelled on the iconic ‘K2’ (short for Kiosk Number 2) red phone box design. Interestingly, this was the result of a competition organised by the Royal Fine Arts Commission in the UK, 1924 to design a kiosk that would be acceptable to the London Metropolitan Boroughs. Well respected architects were invited to make submissions, and the winning design was by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, one of his four original prototypes still stands in where it was placed all those years ago in the left entrance arch of the Royal Academy. The first production ‘K2’s were deployed around London in 1926.

The K2 Phone Box Model is available in two sizes.
Small: 9cm high model opens to reveal a pencil sharpener. Price £4.99.
Large: 14cm high model is a money box. Price £8.99.
